Chart notes

STOMPING HOTROD off a step slowly, showed speed and assumed early command, contested the pace with the rider attempting to rate heading to the turn, set a prompted pace off of the rail into the turn, shook free along the bend and held a clear lead into the stretch, kept to task into the final sixteenth, felt late pressure from the runner-up and held at the wire for the win. IMPROBABLE STORY allowed to settle, saved ground into the turn, responded well into the stretch and made a sustained rail bid into the final furlong, closed willingly late and missed for the win, while besting the rest. LAST ROO well placed in the early stages, tracked the pace three to four wide into the turn, could not find the needed response into the stretch drive but was able to get up for third. SOUTHERN BREEZE had the rider lose his riding crop at the start, broke alertly and assumed early command, ceded the lead and attended to the pace two to three wide into the turn, lost position nearing the quarter marker, weakened in the stretch drive and was outfinished for third. WILD UNION lacked early speed and trailed throughout.
