Chart notes
ARISTOTLE settled on the outside of another rating kindly in mid-division, started to mount a rally three wide outside foes at the three eighths pole, pounced in the four path straightening out for home, did not switch leads driving down the stretch, still ran on determinedly taking over control leaving the furlong marker and was kept to the task late to hold sway at the finish. JAGGERSGOTAGUN had a stalking trip ahead of only the troubled starter early on, was roused for run at the three furlong pole, got in full flight circling horses four wide at the quarter marker, had a solid late run in the four path in upper stretch, drifted inwards driving the wire in the final sixteenth but could not get to the winner finishing up a clear second in the end. JUST A GEM had the inside position travelling in mid-pack, inched up on the fence with five sixteenths to go, hugged the rail closing in at the top of the lane, could not get to the lead duo at the furlong pole but surged late splitting runners at the seventy-yard pole to be a distant third at the finish line. ADAPTED was reluctant to load prior to the break, reared up at the start to trail the group in the early stages, still lagged at the back but was reaching for more ground at the quarter pole, angled four wide for the drive to the wire and had a late burst outside runners showing grit to get up for a minor role at the finish line. IMPERIAL GOLD shot clear up top on the rail through the first turn, remained up front on the fence while hounded outside down the backstretch, was collared outside by the five sixteenths pole, played coy having more edging away again in the two path at the top of the lane, could not fend off the relentless winner outside by the sixteenth pole and flattened out in deep stretch. HUMBER RIVER pressed the issue on the outside in the beginning, was reined in to track the loose leader on the initial turn, closed in to shadow the pacesetter outside down the back straight, rallied to be on even terms with leader outside by the five sixteenths marker, was repelled three wide between horses at the top of the lane and folded with runners on each side at the sixteenth pole.
