Chart notes
POSSUM outrun early inside, angled out in the stretch and rallied to the front in the final sixteenth. QUIET APPEAL broke slowest, took over into the stretch then weakened slightly in the final furlong. TROTSKY dropped back early, advanced wide with mild late rally. CAPTAIN FANCY dropped far behind, chased very wide on the turn and in the stretch. AIRMAN TREVOR was urged close up inside then began fading on the turn. ONE IMPROBABLE raced in closest pursuit of the pacesetter then faltered. CONFISCATED quickly sprinted away for half mile then proved empty in the stretch. LEX lacked usual speed and raced far behind throughout. ROXTON raced outside and gave way readily.
