Chart notes
L RANKIN stalked from inside, tipped to the three path midway around the bend then chased two wide leaving the turn, reeled in CAPTIVATOR midstretch and drove clear. CAPTIVATOR broke a step slow, went up to duel from outside, put away inner rival with a quarter mile remaining, showed the way into the final furlong, came under threat from L RANKIN midstretch and yielded to that rival in the last sixteenth. HOUSE OF MISCHIEF was rank early on from inside, tipped to the three path on the turn, chased after the top pair down the lane but failed to find more. KING OF SUCCESS broke a step slow, trailed two wide into the turn, angled to the inside and passed a rival around the bend, steered out in upper stretch and picked off another tired rival to earn a minor placing. LANK broke step slow, moved up quickly to fight for command inside CAPTIVATOR, dueled to the five-sixteenths pole, failed to kick on with outer rival late on the bend and faded down the lane. TRAIL BLAZE broke well then gradually lost ground up the backstretch, dropped back two then three wide on the turn and came up empty in the drive.
