Chart notes
KETCHUM came away well, tracked THIEVER two deep to the outside down the backstretch, then moved to challenge for the lead going into the turn, took command leaving the three-furlong pole, opened up in the stretch, and held clear to the wire in a sharp debut. THIEVER broke on top and seized the early lead, was overtaken by KETCHUM on the turn, then steadied sharply near the five-sixteenths marker, got back into stride and came back on to take second. LIEUTENANT CHARM settled close up along the rail, steadied near the five-sixteenths marker, was kept to task under steady urging to hold the third spot. HALLOW'S ICE saved ground while racing at the back of the field through the early stages, passed a few stragglers in the stretch but was never a serious threat. MR IN PERSONAL tracked close up three-wide, tried to launch a bid approaching the quarter pole but did not respond, then lacked a finishing kick. COPPERJACKET tracked along the rail in mid-pack, tipped out to the three-path for the stretch run, but could not produce a finish. I NEED MORE MONEY chased at the back of the field two-deep, then was unable to improve in th late stages. UNION CAIT raced mid-pack two-wide to the far turn, then did not respond when asked to go on. THE JOCKEY ON #3 THIEVER LODGED AN OBJECTION AGAINST THE WINNER, #4 KETCHUM ALLEGING INTEFERENCE ON THE TURN. AFTER A REVEW BY THE STEWARDS, THE OBJECTION WAS DISALLOWED AND THE ORIGINAL ORDER OF FINISH WAS MADE OFFICIAL.
