BROKE AN BROKEN unhurried early while dropping back to trail, launched his bid from the back of the pack while racing two wide into the final turn, split rivals leaving the turn, while forcing BAKBURNER to take up sharply, and closed with a rush two wide in the drive to get up in the closing strides. FINDING WAYS broke sharply and dueled for the lead from the outside of BAKBURNER entering the first turn, continued to force the issue from the outside of that rival in the run down the backside, got the better of his pace rival entering the final turn, held a clear advantage into the lane and just failed to last. QUEEN OF ATTITUDE settled well off the contested early pace while saving ground at the rail entering the backstretch, mounted a two wide bid entering the final turn, and finished willingly three wide in the drive. Y VEE R away well and tracked the dueling leaders three wide in the run down the backstretch, commenced his bid two out from the rail entering the final turn, and finished two wide in the drive. BAKBURNER away alertly and vied for the lead from along the rail entering the first turn, set a pressured pace from along the rail in the run down the backside, was unable to match strides with her pace rival entering the final turn, steadied sharply when put in tight quarters leaving the turn, and failed to regain her momentum. Following the running of this race there was a steward's inquiry, as well as a jockey's claim of foul. The rider of BAKBURNER lodged a claim of foul against BROKE AN BROKEN entering the lane. After review the claim of foul was upheld, and BROKE AN BROKEN was disqualifed from first and placed fifth.
