PARKER POINT tracked the leaders through the stretch the first time while racing one out from the rail, held his position in the run down the backside, launched his bid three wide entering the final turn, and closed determinedly two out from the rail in the drive to get up in time. AVE'S IN COMMAND broke sharply and vied for the lead from along the rail entering the stretch the first time, continued to set a pressured pace from the inside of SOMETHING ELUSIVE in the run down the backside and into the final turn, shook off his pace rival through the turn and held a clear advantage into the lane, and just failed to last. TEX HANLEY away well and tracked the leaders into the lane the first time while saving ground at the rail, held his position in the run down the backstretch, rallied along the inside through the final turn, and closed with a rush when tipped five wide for the drive while finishing best of all. SOMTHING ELUSIVE away alertly and dueled for the lead from the outside of AVE'S IN COMMAND through the stretch the first time, continued to force the issue in the run down the backside and into the final turn, was unable to keep tabs on his pace rival leaving the turn, but battled on gamely three wide in the drive. THERE GOES MY HERO settled off the early pace while racing three wide through the lane the first time, continued with a wide trip in the run down the backside, mounted a three wide bid entering the final turn, but needed more late while finishing six wide in the drive. CHICKASAW settled well off the early pace while saving ground at the rail entering the stretch the first time, was always well back and failed to make his presence felt. BECKETT'S BEST settled well back early while racing two wide into the lane the first time, dropped back to trail the field into the backstretch, and had nothing to offer late.
