Chart notes

KERNESS K broke outward but alertly, showed the way up the backstetch, dueled through the turn with the runner up closest to the inside, turned that foe back and furlong out and edged clear under steady handling in a solid effort. PACO THE TACO MAN also away sharp, pressed the winner up the backstretch, moved on that one to race on equal terms through the bend and into the stretch then could not match strides while clearly second best. CATTIVO RAGAZZO in a bit tight at the break, made a good move four wide to be closest to the top two into the lane, could do little with that duo late, held for the show. CARVELLIAN QUEST in the second flight along the inside, chased the dueling top two through the turn, also proved no match for that pair while outkicked for the show. SQUARE SLICE broke out, lacked speed, steered out in upper stretch, improved position a bit while not a serious threat. FALCON BLUE void of early foot in trailing for a half, steered out five wide into the stretch, bothered slightly by SQUARE SLICE as that one too wanted the outside then made little impact. FOGGY DEW in the second group up the backstretch three wide, faded. HELDISH in the second group while between horses into the turn, gave way.
