Chart notes
AMERICAN GLORY (GB) tracked outside a rival, bid three deep then outside the leader at the quarter pole, took over into the stretch, carried a short lead into the final sixteenth and edged clear. NIGHT OUT tracked along the rail, tipped three wide around the far turn, tried to split rivals through a tight spot and bumped on both sides entering the lane, came out and bumped COMININALITTLEHOT again at the eighth pole, put in a late run but ran out of ground. PRINCE OF DEL MAR showed the way unchallenged to the five-sixteenths pole, confronted by the winner at the quarter pole, lost command into the lane, stayed on to midstretch, then yielded to the winner and got passed for second. CALL ME SIR stalked the lone leader next to the fence, angled out in upper stretch and finished evenly late. PRINCE DOLCE trailed on the inside early, moved out on the backstretch went four deep into the far turn, moved into the three path around the bend, angled back out at the top of the stretch and could not rally. COMININALITTLEHOT unhurried and guided to the rail in the opening stages, gained three then four wide on the far turn, got bumped by NIGHT OUT entering the stretch, took some more contact from that rival at the eighth pole and flattened out. VOLATILE STORM stalked two wide or outside a rival, roused at the five-sixteenths pole, got crowded a bit and paused at the quarter pole between the top pair, bumped with NIGHT OUT exiting the bend and weakened. THERE WAS STEWARDS' INQUIRY INVOLVING NIGHT OUT AND COMININALITTLEHOT IN THE STRETCH RUN. FOLLOWING A REVIEW, THE STEWARDS RULED, IN A MAJORITY DECISION, DISQUALIFIED NIGHT OUT FROM SECOND TO SIXTH FOR GOING INTO A TIGHT SPOT AND BUMPING COMININALITTLEHOT, THEN MADE CONTACT WITH COMININALITTLEHOT AGAIN AT THE EIGHTH POLE, COSTING THAT RIVAL A CHANCE A BETTER PLACING.
