MAUNA LOA had a nice set up tucked in on the rail rating kindly behind the leader, was poised on the turn following just behind the pacesetter, found a seam quickly splitting foes in the two path in upper stretch and under a vigorous ride determinedly wore down the frontrunner to edge away for the win in the final few strides outside. ELUSIVE YAUPON was pushed out at start, travelled inside horses in mid-division, was roused keeping pace on the fence throughout the turn, skimmed the rail in upper stretch, had another gear with a solid kick at the furlong pole and burst up the rail late to get up for second money while threatening for the win as well at the finish line. UNDERCOVER AGENT veered out on the break, dictated terms uncontested down the backstretch, was nudged for a bit more with an outside rival bearing down at the quarter pole, was holding on well enough just off the fence in mid-stretch but could not find more late unable to fend off rivals in either side just before the wire. ALLURING AMY was forced out by the inside rival on the start, had a good spot all alone watching the lead three in the beginning, held her own keeping up the front trio on the turn having a chance for a piece of the prize three wide at the top of the lane and finished up even paced to settle on the fringes in the end. LIKELY STORY travelled in mid-pack outside another, had a brief spurt three wide taking closer order at the quarter marker, angled to the four path for the drive, had to alter course coming to the eighth pole switching back to the incorrect lead losing momentum, kept trying late and just missed rallying late for a minor share in the end. TWIST OF SUGAR contently sat outside off the frontrunner down the backstretch, was scrubbed on to go after the leader on the outside at the quarter pole to be in the hunt three wide in upper stretch, could not keep up to the lead duo by the furlong pole and yielded inside runners in the final sixteenth. PARTY CENTRAL settled on the fence near the rear down the back straight, made little impact two wide just off the rail around the oval, moved out to the three path straightening out for the drive but failed to fire in the stretch running. SAMMY THE SHARK broke slowly to trailing down the backside, saved ground making little impact around the bend, picked up a tired rival inside turning for home but failed to menace in the stretch drive inside horses. MYHUSBANDSAGENIUS had an outside stalking trip ahead of only one runner early on, was asked for more run three wide in midturn offering little response and came up empty in the four path outside horses at the top of the lane.
