Chart notes
BURNIN TURF hesitated a bit at the start, moved up on the first turn to track the leader from the inside, rallied on the turn tipping three wide at the quarter pole to engage the pacesetter in mid-stretch and drew off late in the lane. THE BEST DISTANCE set the pace on a clear, well rated lead, responded to battle the winner when challenged turning for home and was outfinished inside the eighth pole. SECRETARY OF WAR reserved off the pace to the far turn, rallied steadily coming home, angled out to the clear in the final eighth and just missed the place. WHY NOT ME prompted the pace to midway on the turn and weakened lacking a closing response. BURNING LEAVES raced near the back of the pack and passed weaker rivals in the lane. T REX was not a factor. CHICO CHARLIE chased the leaders to the far turn and faded.
