Chart notes
LADY LOVES MONEY stumbled, then veered out at the start, still managed to make the lead alternating with COUNTRY PROMISES for the lead in the early stages, gained an advantage late on the turn, then kept that rival at bay through the stretch to prevail. COUNTRY PROMISES moved up after a slow start to press LADY LOVES MONEY into the turn, then let that rival slip ahead lead on the turn, chased in vain through the stretch, and had to settle for second. CITY BLAZE settled off the pace after the start, followed COUNTRY PROMISES three-wide through the turn to loom at the top of the stretch, did not change leads in the stretch and faltered while finishing well clear of the next horse. TAMPA TEACHER hopped in the air at the start and was left behind, chased from far back but was unable to make an impact. SLIPPERY STORM veered in at the start but was otherwise away well, broke well and was up on the early pace with LADY LOVES MONEY, dropped back, steadily retreated and finished far back.
