Chart notes
INTERVAL pressed the early pace three-wide, bid for the lead at the quarter pole, lugged in under right-handed urging but managed to shake free late and prevailed. GAME MAKER (IRE) tracked behind the early pace to the stretch, then produced a grinding finish under steady urging to gain second. FIRST ACT got away well, pressed the pace two-deep to the turn, went to the front passing the seven-sixteenth pole with INTERVAL in pursuit, kept that rival at bay through the turn, but was outfinished in the stretch, weakened late, and was passed for the place in the final yards. PREDECESSOR was allowed to settle from the break and trailed early, was well behind the rest going into the turn, then launched a bid with three furlongs to run, took a three-to-four wide path into the stretch, had to check just inside the eighth pole when MAAM CROSS took the path, but re-bid in the final yards and was gaining ground. LEGENDARY STAR veered out at the start, was outrun through the early stages, then made a mild late bid but lacked the needed response. MARAVICH setted inside and lacked a rally. MAAM CROSS sprinted to the lead from the break, was overtaken by a pair of rivals to the outside, tried to come back on in the stretch, but drifted out under left-handed urging and tired.
