CUGINO stalked the pace on the outside in the two path, made a bid near the seven-sixteenths pole, spun into the stretch in the three path, dueled outside of the runner-up while being carried out in the drive and gamely prevailed under strong urging. COMMON DEFENSE went to the front, showed the way on the inside, was asked near the quarter-pole, dueled inside of the winner while drifting out in the stretch, fought gamely to the finish and was denied while clear for the place. DESVIO settled while saving ground, was roused on the final turn, swung out to the four path into upper stretch, chased the top two in the drive and lacked the needed kick while able to get the show. FLEETFOOT (IRE) dropped back early, moved from the rail to the two path late on the first turn, settled at the rear while off the inside, was roused near the seven-sixteenths pole, spun into the stretch in the three path and lacked the needed response. LIMITED LIABILITY was reserved in the two path, came under urging near the three-eighths pole, went around the final turn in the three then four path, turned into upper stretch under a drive and also lacked the needed response.
