COOL LESTER SMOOTH was under a ride from the start, moved up from mid-pack on the turn to bid three-wide in upper stretch, collared the early leaders and drew off in the final yards. WOLF HUNTER chased widest of all down the backstretch, took aim on the leaders late on the turn, was not making much headway at the top of the stretch, but kept to task late and moved up to second in the late stages. BOURBON STREET BOY popped the gate and made the lead in the initial stages, joined by REGAINED POWER to duel into the turn well clear of the rest of the field, gained a narrow advantage at the three-sixteenths marker, was still going well late but was outkicked and had to settle for the minor award. REGAINED POWER dueled inside of BOURBON STREET BOY to mid-stretch, then gave way grudgingly. ZEE FIRE ducked out at the start, then lacked early speed, then rallied three-wide through the turn, swung five-wide into the stretch and ran on late to improve. GABE'S CHOICE got away well, chased the dueling leaders under a ride, finished evenly while never a serious threat. BRAHMS JR. raced inside with the tracking group, steadied at the head of the turn, and was unable to recover. GAME SANTA broke outward after the start, then took up sharply to avoid contact in the initial strides, was outpaced through the early stages, then was unable to threaten late. SHTARKER chased three-to-four wide and lacked a late bid. MINIMO was allowed to settle near the back after the start, saved ground to no avail, and never threatened. RUMBLING broke off balance then lost the path and took up after the start and was never a factor. GOSHEN GIRL was devoid of speed from the start and trailed throughout.
