Chart notes
SAILOR DE ACES vied for the early advantage, took the advantage in the inside around the final turn, lost the lead at the head of the stretch, but came back and was just up. C F JIMMY RAY unhurried in the beginning, made a steady gain, moved up on the outside around the final turn, made a wide bid, took the lead, but was caught at the wire. WITCHOLOGY raced in the middle of the field, made a late stretch bid, split rivals, proved no match for the top two, but got up for third. LEWIS MEMORIAL raced within striking distance, weakened and was outfinished for third. PRINCE PERFECTA raced in the middle of the field, made a bid at the 3/4 pole and weakened. EASY EDDIE A lacked early speed, came around the final turn on the outside, moved up, racing wide and finished evenly. LOUISIANA BARGAIN void of early speed, saved ground around the second turn and was never a threat. BOX OF CANDY always raced near the back and showed little. CAJUN COUNTRY challenged on the front end in the early going, dropped back and was eased to the wire. BEACH TRIPPIN raced within striking distance, was finished early, retreated to the rear and was eased to the wire.
