CANDY MAN CAN broke sharp prompted the pace along the rail around the first turn, rated off the pace mid-way down the backside, upped the tempo once again leaving the quarter pole, three deep drew even with the vying front runners leaving the furlong marker, under strong handling and running on the wrong lead wore down inside rival went clear in the final jumps. MEXICALI MIKE stalked the pace around the first turn, forced to quicken when CANDY CONNECTION came calling three wide mid-way down the back stretch, vied inside that one into the lane, freed nearing the sixteenth post, hooked by CANDYMAN CAN late, dug in gamely conceded grudgingly under the wire. SHOW TIME ALLEN rated off the pace along the rail into the far turn, shifted out four wide into the lane, closed the gap willingly for the show. GRANDPA JOE slow into stride, raced off the pace and well off the rail into the far turn, swung out seven deep into the lane, had no late punch. TAP THE ARCHES saved ground well off the pace, never threatened late. CANDY CONNECTION broke in the air at the start, quickly recovered pressed the pace three wide into the far turn, vied two wide around the second bend, retreated through the stretch. TALENTED LINO under urging four wide down the back stretch, faltered through the lane.
