Chart notes
ECHO VALLEY broke alertly and took early command, set the pace from the inside along the backstretch, came under pressure into the turn but led the way to the quarter pole, shook free to upper stretch, drew off under steady urging into the final furlong and was ridden out in the late stages to win as much the best. GRAY PERFECTION tracked the early pace from the two path, was well placed to the turn then was shuffled back a bit nearing the quarter marker, angled to the three path into upper stretch, was no match for the winner into the drive, ran on into the final sixteenth and bested the rest for the place honors. STRIKING LADY stalked the early pace three then four wide, chased ECHO VALLEY into the turn and was well placed nearing the quarter marker, spun four wide for the stretch drive, weakened in the final furlong but ran on late and got up in time for third. DUNN'S RIVER broke a step slowly then rushed up between rivals in the early going, pressed the pace three then two wide heading to the quarter pole, was turned away into upper stretch, chased ECHO VALLEY to the furlong marker, tired in the late stages and just missed for third on the wire. JUST RUNNIN settled off of the early pace while not far back, tracked five wide into the turn then chased to the quarter marker, was outkicked to upper stretch and could not muster the needed late response.
