Chart notes
BUCKET LIST broke well then hustled forward to take the lead from EL MARRO in the initial stages, set the pace with that one lapped on the outside, gained a clear advantage near the quarter pole, then fended off a challenge in upper stretch by FIELDSTONE, then a late bid by GREY STREAK to prevail. GREY STREAK was the outside horse in the tracking pair, launched a bid with three furlongs to run, then produced a steady rally down the stretch, was closing the gap on the eventual winner, but ran out of time. FIELDSTONE settled inside and a few lengths behind the dueling leaders in the second pair, made a mild bid into contention late on the turn but flattened out late. EL MARRO ducked out at the start but was still first away from the gate, stalked and pressed to the outside of BUCKET LIST to the stretch, had trouble changing leads, and faltered. K P SILVER BULLET dropped far behind early, then ran on some in the stretch but was never a factor.
