Chart notes
TONIGHT broke well, then was aggressively sent to the front, settled just behind BOHEMIAN STYLE through the early stages, then was set down at the top of the stretch, finished well under steady handling and intermittent urging, and edged clear inside the sixteenth. BOHEMIAN STYLE was the inside horse in the early pace mix, took the lead passing the eleven-sixteenths marker, held sway through the turn with only TONIGHT posing a threat, dug in when confronted in upper stretch, battled gamely but gave way in the final yards. HARBOUR BRIDGE broke awkwardly to the outside, then was slow into stride, moved up under a ride to regain contact with the main pack, then continued to advance through the turn, loomed four-wide at the top of the stretch, was game to the line, but could not get past the top pair, after the race was reported to have bled. FINISTERE hesitated at the start, chased into the turn, then finished with some interest to improve. GAMBOLING GHOST dropped back after a level start, moved up on the turn under a ride, came under pressure before the stretch, then flattened in mid-stretch and faded. READY FOR ACTION outpaced after the break, dropped to last despite being coaxed by the rider, stayed out in the four-path throughout, then lacked a finish. ONE FAST MIDDIE vied between horses in the early pace mix, dropped out early on the turn, and was uninvolved in the late stages.
