Chart notes
BABBO was quick to take the lead, set the pace near the inside moving clear after the opening three-sixteenths, allowed rivals to catch up late on the turn but kicked away again in upper stretch, had enough in reserve and held sway. PINE KNOLL tracked in behind, was up close passing the quarter pole, moved out near the sixteenth pole, was second best. RELOAD'S REBEL settled mid-pack, took closer order and was asked a bit about the five-sixteenths, was three wide passing the quarter pole, floated five deep leaving the turn looming a threat but evened out late. GILT EDGE switched out off the inside early, was outside foes three to four deep on the turn, came into upper stretch five to six wide, was gaining but too late. POSEIDON STEEL lacked early speed trailing, saved ground on the turn, came out off the rail in upper stretch to pass a tiring foe and improved. WAGNER was up close after the start then continued to stalk from outside a foe just off the leader and eventual winner, steadied near the sixteenth pole and was not persevered with late. MASON'S GAMBLE was off the pace between foes into the turn, went two to three wide on that bend, failed to menace. PAT'S GAMBLE chased from inside, was under urging three furlongs out but failed to rally. FOLLOWING AN OBJECTION BY THE RIDER OF WAGNER AGAINST PINE KNOLL ALLEGING INTERFERENCE NO ACTION WAS TAKEN.
