Chart notes
KAVANAUGH was rated on the outside, made a bid near the nine-sixteenths pole, vied in the four path while asked on the turn, turned into upper stretch on even terms for the lead, drifted out under a left-handed crop coming to the furlong marker, switched to a right-handed crop shortly thereafter, battled with the runner-up to the finish and prevailed under strong urging. MOMENTUM FILES moved out early then tracked the pace, made a bid near the nine-sixteenths pole, vied in the three then two path while asked on the turn, battled with the winner in the stretch and just missed while clear for the place. SEQUENTIAL went clear early then moved in while showing the way, was challenged near the nine-sixteenths pole, passed the half-mile pole under urging, vied along the rail on the turn, lost the advantage at the quarter-pole, dropped back into the final furlong and weakened but was well clear for the show. PARTY WITH SMARTY dropped back then was guided in at the rear, shifted from the rail to the two path on the turn, moved out in upper stretch and failed to threaten. QUIET MOON settled on the outside under some urging, dropped back near the nine-sixteenths pole, went around the turn in the three path and failed to respond.
