Chart notes
SMOOVIN SATURDAY stalked from inside, ridden along on the far turn, tipped three wide late on the bend, drew alongside JOHN METCALFE at the sixteenth pole and edged clear. JOHN METCALFE dueled from outside, took over at the quarter pole, drew clear at the top of the stretch, caught by SMOOVIN SATURDAY at the sixteenth pole and held safely for second. SCATALOTADINGDONG forwardly placed in the early going three wide, bid three deep past the quarter pole, lost touch with the leader at the top of the lane, flattened in the late stages but was able to save third. START THE RIDE leaned back and was held by the assistant starter a little too long, lagged behind on the inside early, rounded the far turn three then four wide and passed tired rivals in the stretch. ROCKY COLAVITO dueled from inside, came under a ride on the far turn, lost command at the quarter pole, yielded to outer rival entering the lane and faded. BOOKED CLUBHOUSE tracked two wide around the first turn, asked two then three wide on the second bend and weakened. WASTED WARRIOR coaxed from the gate then took back early on the inside, moved to the two path around the clubhouse turn, chased three deep into the far turn, moved into the two path late on that bend and was never a factor. FOLLOWING AN INQUIRY, THE STEWARDS UNANIMOUSLY RULED THAT START THE RIDE WAS NOT AWARDED A FAIR START AND IS DECLARED A NON-STARTER.
