SOUP TODAY took a bump at the start, stalked the pace from the inside, then took over the lead midway through the turn, dueled with ROGUES A PLOTTING through the stretch, and kept a clear advantage over that one while racing greenly. ROGUES A PLOTTING ducked in at the start into SOUP TODAY, made the lead under some pressure from DR SPIRITO with several others in close pursuit, surrendered the lead to the first rival in upper stretch, battled on, though a bit green, but could not close the gap. DREAM BOY lugged in at the start, bothering the inside rival, settled four-to-five wide at the rear of the main group, lugged in through the stretch run, but managed to improve and move up into third. RIVERS OF WEALTH settled in the middle of the main pack, ran on some in the stretch, but failed to change leads. MOTOWN DREAM broke slow, then was bumped twice by DREAM BOY, raced up close on the early pace down the backstretch, then dropped back briefly heading into the turn, lost some ground to the leaders on the turn, then swung six-wide into the stretch and finished with some late interest while never a serious threat. RASCAL FLASH veered in at the start, gave an even effort while never a threat. MY PAISAN chased from the middle of the main pack, saved ground, was under a hard ride from the turn, but could not produce the needed response. DR SPIRITO broke a step slow then lost the path when the inside rival came over at the start, dueled three-wide to the stretch, gave way near the quarter pole, and tired in the stretch. EL CANELO ONE dwelt at the start and spotted the field about a dozen lengths at the start, raced far back and passed a couple of tired foes late. DOMINATING GUY showed brief speed, was close for a furlong, steadied in traffic, lost interest, and stopped in upper stretch. BAD BOY ROY veered out sharply at the start, showed little and was always behind. THERE WAS A STEWARDS INQUIRY INTO THE START, AFTER A REVIEW IT WAS DETERMINED THAT #7 EL CANELO ONE GOT A FAIR START AND NO ACTION WAS TAKEN. This race had a timing discrepancy or malfunction and was re-timed using video technology to arrive at the most accurate time.
