Chart notes
DECCAN PRINCE (IRE) opted to race not too far behind the pace, split foes in the final furlong to surge for the lead and just held. CONTEMPLATION tracked the pace four wide, moved up through the far turn to duel with rivals down the stretch but was out-finished. SKIPPER'S PRIDE quickly took the early lead to claim the inside before the first turn, held a pressured pace down the backstretch and far turn, challenged to duel with foes down the stretch but ultimately yielded in the final sixteenth. GORILLA TREK was unhurried at the start to be the early trailer, loomed along the inside of the far turn to enter the stretch just behind the pace, ran out of racing room in the final furlong, tipped out four wide to try and rally but it was too late. MAILMAN MONEY raced off the pace between rivals, swung out six wide entering the stretch but came up empty. PICO D'ORO wide through the first turn, moved up to track the pace five wide down the backstretch, weakened in the stretch. HEAT LIGHTNING raced off the pace three to four wide, trailed at the three eighths, passed tiring foe late. DICK BEST pressed the pace through the first turn, moved up to vie for command down the backstretch and far turn, retreated in the final quarter.
