Chart notes
MOONIE PIE moved up after a slow start, split horses at the quarter pole, dueled with KIN TO THE WICKED through the stretch, brushed with that foe near the sixteenth marker, then drifted in and knocked that rival off-stride in the final yards and got to the wire first. IT'S BEEN REAL broke well but was not quick enough to join the early pace, was under a ride before the turn to keep pace, but lost some ground, started to narrow ow the gap late on the turn, then sustained the bid through the stretch and just missed at the line. KIN TO THE WICKED got away best and opened a clear lead early, maintained top position to the stretch, then dug in when challenged by MOONIE PIE, exchanged bumps with that rival and came up short at the finish. THE RAIN IS GONE stumbled coming out of the gate, raced near the back in the initial stages, then advanced under a ride through the turn, then angled out five-wide into the stretch but finished well behind the top three. SOUTHERN QUEEN ducked out and steadied after the break, fell behind, and was unable to threaten. MIKKISONTHINICE broke out and got crowded a bit at the start but was otherwise away well, tracked three-wide to the stretch, then tired. NOTHIN broke slowly, then was broadsided by SOUTHERN QUEEN just after the start, slow into stride, and trailed throughout. THERE WAS A STEWARDS INQUIRY INTO THE STRETCH RUN. AFTER A REVIEW, NO ACTION WAS TAKEN. This race had a timing discrepancy or malfunction and was re-timed using video technology to arrive at the most accurate time.
