Chart notes
EPIC STYLE angled over to the two-path before the first turn to settle close up through the early stages, was sent forward with three furlongs to go, bid three-wide for the lead a the top of the stretch, quickly opened up a clear lead and maintained the margin to the finish. ONTARIO saved ground racing mid-pack to the far turn, tipped out three-wide for the stretch run, and produced a steady finish to move up into second. TRIUMPHANT SPIRIT allowed to settle from the break, finished with interest, and just got up at the wire to grab the third prize. TOMMIE G pressed the pace three-wide, moved to take over the lead past the five-sixteenths marker, briefly led past the quarter pole, but could not match strides with the winner in upper stretch and was outfinished. PURRING unhurried through the early stages, rallied through the stretch to improve but was never a serious threat. SAY I DO SADIE settled inside, always close up to the far turn, but flattened out in the final furlong. MALIBU SMART raced in the middle of the pack two-wide and went evenly late while never a serious threat. SUPER STORMY settled two-wide at the back of the field, ralled six-wide on the far turn, flattened out, and did not threaten. HIDDEN QUARRY made the lead before the first turn without really being asked, was left alone to set the pace to the far turn, surrendered the lead at the top of the stretch, and tired. SPICY ITALIAN settled near the back through the early stages, saved ground through the far turn, but was outkicked in the stretch. LOFTY HEIGHTS raced three-wide and did not threaten. JUST THE SKY settled well off the pace and lacked a rally.
