VIX tracked inside behind the dueling leaders, bid three wide at the quarter pole, dueled into the stretch, gained command and drew clear under urging. PASSIONFORGLORY vied three wide for the lead, dueled on the turn, dug in gamely on the rail in the stretch run and came up second best. PENN FRANKLIN vied between rivals, dueled on the turn, chased and tired. EL TAMALERO vied inside for the lead, chased on the turn and gave way. LAUGHATYOURENEMIES was outrun. WARHEADED was outrun early, chased on the turn, then veered in sharply entering the stretch, hit the rail and lost the rider, walked off after. After a Stewards' Inquiry into the incident, the race was declared official.
