Chart notes
LANSDOWNE (GB) contested the early pace between rivals, took back and stalked the dueling pair heading into the turn, bid three wide to upper stretch, confronted CHUCKANUT BAY at the furlong grounds and dueled to the final sixteenth, wore down the stubborn runner-up in deep stretch and edged away late. CHUCKANUT BAY was prominent away from the start, went up to contest the early pace from inside of ALWAYS ON CAY, dueled that rival into the turn then shook free to upper stretch, was confronted by LANSDOWNE (GB) nearing the furlong marker, met that rival's bid to the final sixteenth, grudgingly gave way in deep stretch and was a clear second. RIGHT IN FRONT broke out and crowded an outer rival at the start, settled off of the early pace, saved ground into the turn and maintained a rail trip to the stretch, could not muster the needed late response but kept on in deep stretch and held for third. SCRATCHY APACHE got squeezed at the start and lacked early speed, settled between rivals into the turn, ran in pursuit into the stretch, angled four wide nearing the final sixteenth, lacked the needed late response and just missed for third. ALWAYS ON CAY showed good early speed, disputed the pace outside of CHUCKANUT BAY into the turn, was repelled into upper stretch and faded in the final furlong. BANGO FOR BUCKS well placed in the early stages, tracked three wide to the quarter marker, chased four wide to upper stretch, could not find more into the drive and weakened. MISTER K was allowed to settle, coaxed three wide along the turn, trailed to upper stretch and did not factor.
