Chart notes
VALID CONNECTION settled inside with the tracking group, ever far back, bid three-wide for the lead at the quarter pole, gained the advantage in upper stretch, then went clear under steady handling and intermittent urging. CHARLIESLITLDEVIL was lapped on STAROFTHEGAME from the outset, ramped up the pressure on that one near the three-furlong mark, dueled into the stretch, got the best of the rival by mid-stretch, but could not go with the winner late. STAROFTHEGAME secured the rail position and the lead into the first turn, slowed the pace way down while getting moderate pressure from a pair of rivals to the outside, quickened with CHARLIESLITLDEVIL approaching the three-furlong pole, but could not produce the needed response in the final furlong. INTERVAL took up going into the first turn near the seven-eighths pole, settled between horses in the second flight, then dropped to last before the far turn, came back on five-wide into the stretch, and finished with some interest while lugging in. WITH FULL HONORS got caught four-wide on the first turn, started a forward move when asked to go on from the seven-sixteenths maker, came four-wide into the stretch but could not sustain the bid and flattened out. DAYTONA GOLD raced three-wide into the first turn, then stalked the early pace down the backstretch, started a steady retreat after passing the three-furlong pole and had little to offer in the stretch. THERE WAS A STEWARDS INQUIRY INTO THE INCIDENT GOING INTO THE FIRST TURN. AFTER A REVIEW, NO ACTION WAS TAKEN.
