SMOOVIN SATURDAY bumped inner rival at the start, settled in the two path between foes then outside a rival, gained three then four wide around the far turn, angled out at the top of the stretch to launch a bid, challenged JOHN METCALFE in midstretch and inched clear in the final furlong. JOHN METCALFE broke in and bumped PAVLOVIAN, tracked the pacesetter from the three path, was on the move while angling out on the far turn, bid five wide into the lane, took over with a quarter mile left to run, resisted to the eighth pole and got outkicked by SMOOVIN SATURDAY in the late stages. CAN'T HELP MYSELF stalked on the inside then moved a bit off the rail around the first turn, rounded the far turn in the two path, bid between runners at the top of the lane and got outfinished by the top pair in the furlong grounds. PAVLOVIAN hopped and got bumped by JOHN METCALFE leaving the gate, raced four deep at the back into the first turn then tucked inside at the back, advanced in the middle stages, moved into range on the far turn, put in a rail bid at the top of the stretch but faltered in the final furlong. FIONELLO brushed with TOMMY NORRIS at the start, traveled three deep then moved into the two path around the first turn, trailed on the inside around second bend, angled out nearing the stretch and passed tired rivals. FLASHY FRITZ was closest in pursuit three then two wide early, challenged the leader from outside at the three-eighths pole, fought four deep into the lane, failed to keep up at the three-sixteenths pole and weakened. MO HOLLAND DRIVE got bumped leaving the gate, settled along the rail, moved off the rail on the backstretch, went two wide into the far turn, moved back inside on the far turn, steered out in the lane and was never a factor. TOMMY NORRIS brushed with FIONELLO at the start, sprinted to the front in the two path then found the rail, showed the way unchallenged to the far turn, met the bid from FLASHY FRITZ at the three-eighths pole, fought three deep into the stretch, lost command at the quarter pole and gave way.
