Chart notes
IMPROBABLE FIRST made the lead while getting some pressure from JENNY'S BEIGNET through the early stages, shrugged off a bid by that rival on the turn, responded when set down near the quarter pole and drew off in the stretch under steady handling. GAMBOLING GHOST tracked three to four wide throughout and finished up well go gain the place while never a threat to the winner. JENNY'S BEIGNET stalked the pace just off the flank of IMPROBABLE FIRST to the turn, made a challenge to that one midway on the turn but could not get by then weakened in the stretch and yilelded the second spot. ROYALLY FLUSHED bore out after the start, causing some trouble for the two rivals in the adjacent stalls, then raced inside with the second flight well off the pace of the leaders, kept a steady pace through the lane, but was unable to improve. PACE was bumped at the start, then outpaced through the early stages and was under a ride at the half-mile pole, dropping to last going into the turn, then stayed to the inside but did not rally. FINISTERE broke a step slow, then lost the path when ROYALLY FLUSHED came over at the start, was shuffled backt, then chased the field from well behind through the early stages, ran on some to improve position on the turn, but failed to change leads in the stretch and was unable to make an impact. THERE WAS A STEWARDS INQUIRY INTO THE START. AFTER A BRIEF REVIEW NO ACTION WAS TAKEN.
