Chart notes
CHIP HONCHO moved up to press the pace, came under a tight rein up the backstretch, slowly closed the gap in the final sixteenth to be up just in time. LIBERTY NATIONAL settled off the pace, gained position along the inside of the far turn, continued to rally down the stretch but came up just short. CROWN THE BUCKEYE was quick to set the pace, came under pressure up the backstretch and far turn, gained some breathing room in the upper stretch but weakened in the final sixteenth. QUALITY MISCHIEF found position three wide around the middle of the pack, closed some ground through the stretch but was out-finished by rivals. VERY CONNECTED settled back to trail, passed retreating rival. MISTER PUNCH was a bit reluctant to load the starting gate, broke a step slow, moved up behind the pace, retreated in the far turn, galloped across from the three sixteenths, walked off.
