MCCLUSKY settled three wide to the first turn, unhurried along the backstretch run, advanced two wide and between foes nearing the quarter pole, made a sustained rally into the stretch, could not reel in the top pair late and held safely at the wire for third. LIMITED HEATWAVE was well placed while three wide into the first turn, tracked the loose leader along the backstretch run, inched closer three wide into the far turn and gained ground into the stretch, was caught a bit in tight between foes into the final furlong then was outkicked in the final sixteenth. VORPAL was forwardly placed in the early running, stalked the loose leader into the backstretch, was well placed to the far turn and ran in pursuit of HOT LEGS ROMOLO nearing the quarter pole, could not find more into the stretch drive and weakened in the final sixteenth. RIDE FOR GOLD allowed to settle in the early running, saved ground along the backstretch then inched closer while saving ground into the far turn, could not sustain his run into the stretch drive and flattened out.
