Chart notes
OBLITERATION stumbled at the start then broke out, quickly recovered to race within striking position while widest up the backstretch firmly in hand, five wide into the turn, moved at will under a hold to challenge midway on that bend, put a head in front turning for home in the three path, drew off as he pleased while continuing on his own courage to win in handy fashion, much the best. SWUNG settled off the pace inside, continued along the rail and got through inside of a tiring rival late in the bend, shifted out for the drive, set down then drifted out a bit further, proved no match for the winner, drew clear for the second spot. DIRTY RICH moved up to set the pace just off the inside, continued to show the way in the two path into the turn, offered brief resistance to duel with late one into the stretch then could not keep up, weakened while unable to contain the winner, saved the show. CANNED HEAT broke on top, raced forwardly and four wide inside the winner into the turn, failed to keep pace with that one while remaining four wide through the bend, had little left for the drive. HOW BOUT THAT CURT off a beat slow, trailed most of the way and failed threatened. STRONG POTENTIAL pressed the pace while outside leader up the backstretch, began to give way in the turn, continued to fade through the lane.
