Chart notes
STORMY AT MIDNIGHT popped from the gate, sprinted clear early, maintained the advantage through the turn, then drew clear through the stretch despite racing on the left lead. CARIBBEAN DREAM chased from a close-up position to the stretch, was no match for the winner, but kept to task to win the battle for the place. BRINK OF WAR took a bump at the start, then chased STORMY AT MIDNIGHT in futility to the stretch, weakened, and was passed for second. POWER POUR moved up after a slow start, tracked three-wide at the back of the forward group, and went evenly late. CAUSE MIMI SAID broke well but was outpaced down the backstretch, was last into the turn, never threatened, but managed to beat one rival to the wire. DOTTIE C broke in at the start and bumped BRINK OF WAR, dropped far behind early and was always far behind.
