Chart notes
CALI CAT rated in the two path, bid three deep on the far turn, dueled outside SIR PERCIVAL to the sixteenth and edged clear late. SIR PERCIVAL pressed the pace from outside, dueled around the far turn, inched ahead into the stretch, put away inner rival but was confronted by CALI CAT, battled with that rival to the sixteenth pole and yielded late. DRUIDIC stalked the pace from inside, came under a ride on the second bend, chased two wide into the stretch and gained third. CULLEN J grabbed the lead from inside, showed the way under pressure from SIR PERCIVAL, fought head to head around the far turn, yielded to that rival at the three-sixteenths pole and managed to stay on for a minor placing. PRINCE DOLCE fractious in the gate, unhurried in the early going and angled to the inside, saved ground through the far turn as well, had one beat approaching the stretch, tipped off the fence and rallied belatedly. AFTERNOON NAP pulled three wide early, raced out of range two wide into the far turn, found the rail around that bend and lacked further response. FRANK BULLITT settled four then three wide on the first turn, navigated the far turn in the two path and could not rally when called upon. KING OF DRAGONS threw his head leaving the gate, trailed two wide into the first turn, pulled into the backstretch, tugged the rider forward in the middle stages, went three deep around the far turn and weakened. REFOCUS sat off the pace in the two path, ridden along the rail on the far turn, tipped two wide into the lane and could not make an impact. PASS THE BATON was a bit keen along the inside on the first turn, asked around the second bend and was never a factor. ONE SMOKIN DUDE pulled between rivals early, traveled outside a rival at the back in the middle stages, came three wide into the lane and was never a factor.
