PEARL MAGIC broke outward a bit at the start, then settled between horses in the tracking group down the backstretch, was sent along after passing the quarter pole to put more pressure on STELLA E VELOCE on the lead, drew even near the quarter pole, battled briefly before getting clear in mid-stretch, lugged in late while racing on the wrong lead but managed to hold off a mild late bid in the final yards. SAVE THE DATE got a good position on the first turn but ceded the front to STELLA E VELOCE, was held up behind that one through the early stages, then became boxed in going into the far turn, bided time to the stretch, swung out four-wide and finished up well under strong handling and intermittent urging, was closing in steadily but ran out of time. STELLA E VELOCE had the best speed from the break and went to a clear lead early, kept the others at bay to the far turn, then dug in under several threats approaching the quarter pole, battled gamely to mid-stretch but weakened a bit in the final furlong. PRINCESS OPAL got caught four-wide into the first turn and kept to that path throughout, raced close up to the half-mile pole, was having to be hard-ridden to keep up with the leaders through the turn, could not keep up the pace through the stretch but finished well ahead of the rest while drifting out in the late stages. DANCING SHADOWS lacked any early speed, raced near the back to the far turn, came four wide into the stretch, but lacked a finish. SMALL TOWN HEROINE slipped and stumbled coming out of the gate and was slow to recover, settled inside with the trailing group, but never threatened. BULLS N BERRY trailed far back early, kept to the inside path then ran on a bit in the late stages past tired foes. TOVIA chased in mid-pack alone between the leading and trailing groups, then stopped in the stretch.
