MACHO GRANDE was allowed to settle while never far back early on, saved ground to the far turn then was asked for run nearing the quarter marker, tipped out to upper stretch and between bid rivals at the furlong pole, led into the final sixteenth and held under firm handling in deep stretch. NAUTICAL MOON settled to the first turn, roused three wide at the half-mile marker, made a steady advance to upper stretch and responded in the drive, finished well but could not get by the winner in deep stretch and held safely for the place. BROCK ON BY broke alertly then ceded the early lead, tracked the pace three wide into the backstretch run, was well placed to the half-mile marker, chased into the far turn then spun four wide to upper stretch, bid five wide past the furlong pole, was outkicked in deep stretch and was a clear third. SEND OFF settled to the first turn then lagged along the backstretch run, saved ground to the quarter pole, found his best stride late but could not threaten the leaders in deep stretch. COASTAL BRINK tracked the early pace from between rivals, was well placed to the backstretch and prompted the pace to the far turn, chased MACKINNON to the quarter pole, spun three then four wide to upper stretch, could not keep pace into the final furlong and weakened late. MACKINNON hustled away from the gate, assumed command into the first turn, set a decent pace while well handled to the half-mile marker, showed the way to the quarter marker then dug in into the stretch, was overtaken at the furlong marker and faded in the late stages. SLIM JIMMY settled in the early stages while never far back, tracked the pace two wide and between runners heading to the half-mile, dropped back along the far turn then came up empty in the stretch drive.
