Chart notes
NICKEL C stalked the pace from the rail, bid at the rail and bumped hard with GUS SWAYZE turning for home, kicked clear soon after and held clear under a drive. THE TOWN was off slowly, raced off the pace two wide, swung out approaching the eighth pole, slammed into SIR GUINNESS, switched back to the left lead and finished strongly to gain the place. DR. JEKYLL settled off the pace two wide, edged closer two wide around the far turn and ran on for the show. SERAC saved ground in range, swung four wide in upper stretch, bumped with HIGH LEVERAGE and finished evenly. VACATIONER saved ground in midpack and kept on at the rail in the lane without threatening. COACH KAIN raced well back two wide and three wide, swung wider in upper stretch and passed tiring rivals. HIGH LEVERAGE prompted the pace two wide, was bumped hard turning for home, bumped with SERAC not long after and faded. GUS SWAYZE set the pace along the rail, was bounced around turning for home and dropped back. RAWAYANA was outrun inside. NO BULL PETE failed to menace while racing three wide. LEO'S ROCKET chased the pace three wide, steadied while tiring in upper stretch and was eased through the final furlong. SIR GUINNESS raced off the pace two wide, swung seven wide turning for home, drifted in nearing the eighth pole, bumped with THE TOWN at the eighth pole, lost the rider, completed the course riderless and walked off. THE STEWARDS CONDUCTED INQUIRIES INTO BOTH INCIDENTS IN THE STRETCH AND TOOK NO ACTION.
