Chart notes
ILLUSTRATOR got pinballed between rivals after the break, then settled in mid-pack along the rail, content to track the action up front, tipped out to the three-path for the stretch run, steadily closed the gap on the leader, and got a favorable head bob at the finish. WHISKEY NOT WINE was given a couple of taps with the crop to get to the front, then was left alone to slow down the pace with a pair of rivals in close attendance, responded when asked to quicken on the far turn, briefly dueled with TEAM LEADER into the stretch, put that one away in the final furlong then came up on the short end of the photo at the wire. TAP THE DOT settled mid-pack two-wide through the first half, then got a rail run through the far turn, ran well through the stretch to gain third, but was along much too late to threaten the top two. TEAM LEADER raced between horses with the early leaders, quickened on the turn, and went on with WHISKEY NOT WINE into the stretch, then weakened in the final furlong. CARLEA'S DREAM lunged exiting the gate and was off a length or two slow, raced two-wide at the back through the early stages, bid three-wide into the stretch but was outfinished. MOR LANA SPIRIT broke awkwardly to the inside and made contact with ILLUSTRATOR, stalked the slow early pace three-deep, dropped out on the far turn and was unable to threaten in the stretch. JOLLY SAMURAI was held up at the rear despite the slow pace up front, then was unable to close any ground as the pace quickened in the later stages.
