Chart notes
GUILE shadowed the early pace, launched a four wide bid at the top of the stretch, found best stride in the final sixteenth to reel in the leader. DOUBLE EDGE SWORD was quick to take charge, came under heavy pressure from AVERY'S GEM in the turn, began to pull away in the final furlong but was caught by GUILE in the final few strides. AVERY'S GEM broke outwardly at the start, stalked the early pace three wide, moved up to contest the lead in the turn, weakened in the final furlong. WE MISS ARLINGTON hit the gate and carried out by inside foe at the start, trailed for the first half, passed tiring rivals in the stretch. PENSACOLA was in tight quarters between foes, checked at the nine sixteenths, continued along the inside of the turn, drifted out a couple paths rounding the turn but quickly veered back towards the inside at the quarter, failed to respond to the rider's encouragement in the stretch. NOTION settled off the pace, was asked for by the rider in the far turn to gain a few positions momentarily before trailing at the quarter. SUMMER SPLASH tracked the pace three wide, retreated in the turn, pulled up in the stretch, escorted off in an equine ambulance.
