Chart notes
RAMAYANA unhurried from the rail position early, drew closer while racing outside EMMA G in the middle stages, continued to gain on the far turn, angled out past the quarter pole and loomed four wide coming into the stretch, drew alongside the top pair and put ahead in front past the eighth pole, then maintained a short lead over WILD LIKE THE WEST to the wire. WILD LIKE THE WEST raced up close on the inside, angled three wide around the far turn, challenged exiting the bend, gained the lead in upper stretch, lost command past the eighth pole and stayed on gamely to the wire. PEANUTBUTTERBOMBE sent for the lead and moved inside, showed the way around the first turn under pressure, dueled up the backstretch, carried a short lead through the far turn, lost command in upper stretch and was no match for the top pair in the furlong grounds. EMMA G chased outside a rival around the first turn, dropped off the pace and moved inside, got put in a bit tight by the winner near the three-eighths pole and dropped back on the far turn, then passed a tired rival in the lane. HEAVEN'S BOLT pressed the pace from outside, fought on even terms in the middle stages, stayed alongside PEANUTBUTTERBOMBE to the quarter pole, then yielded between foes turning for home and tired.
