Chart notes
MISSION BEACH was forwardly placed racing three-wide, rallied six-wide into the stretch, caught COASTAL JAZZ at the eighth pole and edged clear late. COASTAL JAZZ saved ground setting the early pace, drifted out to be five-wide entering the stretch, responded when headed and continued on gamely to the wwire. RIVERSIDE chased COASTAL JAZZ racing two-wide, came four-wide into the stretch then angled in during the drive and finished well in a steady effort. CHUCKANUT BAY was unhurried while racing four-wide on the turn, rallied seven-wide into the stretch and was gaining slightly late. JIN TONG saved ground while being allowed to settle but lacked a rally when asked. LANSDOWNE (GB) was close-up early racing two-wide and weakened slightly during the drive. U. S. ARMY raced in the back of the field, came four-wide into the stretch and failed to seriously threaten. MINER LEAGUE racing in the middle of the field while tree-wide, came five-wide into the stretch and gave way during the late stages.
