Chart notes
THIRD BEER tracked the speed from the two path, crept closer on the far turn, angled to the rail approaching the stretch, followed behind the leader to the eighth pole, shifted off the fence and bumped DARK OMEN in midstretch, overtook DARK BLUE late and held over the runner-up. VENTRY STRAND content to trail in the early going and tucked inside on the clubhouse turn, tipped two wide at the quarter pole, steered out for a clear run in the lane, closed fast in deep stretch but ran out of ground. DARK BLUE set all the pace from inside to the top of the stretch, dug in under pressure to the sixteenth pole and yielded grudgingly late. DARK OMEN rated on the inside in the opening stages, moved to the two path at the quarter pole, bid from outside into the final furlong, got bumped by the winner midstretch and flattened late. FUMANO'S MAGIC broke a step slow, allowed to settle after next the fence, continued to save ground through the far turn while under a ride and failed to threaten in the stretch run. CAN'T HELP MYSELF raced up close in the two path, chased two then three wide outside DARK OMEN on the far turn and weakened in the drive. CRUISE HOME traveled outside a rival near the back, remained two wide into the far turn, trailed three wide into the lane and lacked a response when called upon.
