LI GRAND ZOMBI forwardly placed early on, tracked the loose leader to the backstretch, was well placed to the far turn then bid three wide at the quarter pole, vied while on the left lead into the final furlong, battled the runner-up to the final yards and determinedly prevailed at the wire. QUALITY SPIRITS settled while saving ground to the first turn, tracked the decent pace from the inside along the backstretch, angled to the two path nearing the quarter pole, responded into upper stretch then vied between foes into the final furlong, gamely dueled inside of the winner to deep stretch and was bested in the final strides, while clear of the rest for second. MATCHING FUNDS raced a bit in tight leaving the start, settled outside of rivals to the first turn, tracked three to four wide nearing the half-mile, bid four wide to upper stretch, was outkicked to the final sixteenth but stayed on late and got up in time for third. PLAZA DEL SOL got crowded at the start and was away a bit slowly, settled while saving ground to the backstretch, saved ground to the top of the lane, angled out for the stretch drive, rallied late and just missed for third. BROCKTON cleared the field away from the gate and assumed early command, set a decent pace to the half-mile, held off foes to upper stretch then dug in into the stretch drive, was overtaken into the final furlong and gave way late. SKIP FORWARD (JPN) was forwardly placed while three deep to the first turn, tracked the decent pace from outside of rivals along the backstretch, got shuffled back a bit nearing the quarter marker, ran in pursuit of the leaders to mid-stretch and could not muster the needed late response. MORAL MAN broke in a bit at the start then settled in the second flight and between rivals, chased from the inside along the far turn, could not keep pace into the lane and weakened in the final furlong. CAMPANARIO caught a bit in tight and shuffled back in the early stages, settled to the first turn then was unhurried while saving ground to the half-mile, coaxed two to three wide to upper stretch and did not threaten in the final stages. CONCRETE BOLT veered in at the start and was last away from the gate, settled to the first turn then raced widest to the half-mile, ran in pursuit three wide to upper stretch and did not factor in the lane. WHISPERING BREEZE hopped then was shuffled back at the start, trailed to the first turn and lacked speed along the backstretch, was outrun to the far turn and was distanced.
