Chart notes
MR. WHO gained the early lead under a snug hold, set and even pace, responded when challenged on the far turn and held sway in the stretch under an enterprising ride. CORNISHMAN outpaced while five wide, lodged a four wide bid on the far turn, was angled in approaching the eighth pole and kept on but could not reach the top one. RIVERSIDE raced forwardly along the inside, was urged to improve his position on the far turn and stayed on in the stretch. SPENARD settled well, advanced to stalk the pace up the backstretch run, remained in contention leaving the far turn but flattened out. LONESOME BOY chased the pace, was in tight quarters into the first turn, had to be checked as a result and did not factor thereafter. UNMACHABLE was always outrun.
