WATCHOUTFORWEAVER was four-wide into the first turn, backed off, made a sharp forward move after passing the half-mile pole, took command of the race midway through the far turn, opened up in the stretch, and maintained a clear margin to the finish. DERBY INCLUDED missed the break and was last away, trailed the field to the far turn, then circled the field on the far turn, ranged up to the leader at the top of the stretch, chased gamely through the stretch, but could not close the gap in the late stages. RUMBLE STRIP RON broke well, then backed out of a potential speed duel on the clubhouse turn, settled behind the dueling leaders, always close, became boxed in going into the far turn, waited for room to the stretch, angled out to the four path and finished with some interest to gain third. GENERAL WINSTON hustled from the break but was caught three-wide into the first turn, raced close up the backstretch, then made an early move for the lead leaving the half, had a head in front with three furlongs to go, but was overtaken by WATCHOUTFORWEAVER, then lacked the needed response in the stretch. PRIVATE DRIVE contested the early pace to the inside of DRILL'S BOY for the first half, then poined by GENERAL WINSTON heading into the turn, could not go with that one late on the turn, and tired in the stretch. DRILL'S BOY hustled from the break to duel outside of PRIVATE DRIVE, dropped out after going a half-mile, and was empty from that point.
