Chart notes
OUTFIELDER showed the way in the two path, drew clear of an outer presser with three furlongs to go, held sway as an outer SMALL TOWN pursued into the lane, then responded when set down leaving upper stretch and drew off. SMALL TOWN chased along the inside, moved out to the four path into the turn, forged place at the quarter pole before taking aim on the well-traveling leader, but proved no match in the final furlong and was second best. GNOME trailed along the inside then moved up in upper stretch. MOM'S SPAGHETTI settled in the two path, fanned out to the six path into the lane and failed to menace. HOMETOWN BOUND pressed the eventual winner from the three path early on, failed to sustain pressure and chased around the turn then lost place at the quarter pole and faded.
