THE BIG CHEESEOLA brushed leaving the gate, was closest in pursuit to the outside of the leader early, bid two then three wide late on the bend, cleared inner rival in upper stretch, remained clear into the last sixteenth, came under threat from a pair of rivals late but was able to hold. ALPINE THUNDER broke a step slow, got shuffled behind GENUINE GRACE early and altered out, went three wide into the turn, exited the bend in the five path, tipped out further at the top of the stretch, closed in and drew alongside the winner late but ran out of time. LAMPY tracked outside rivals up the backstretch, asked three, four, then five wide around the bend, finished well in tandem with ALPINE THUNDER and got edged by that rival for second. SMARTY NOSE chased from off the pace four wide into the turn, moved to the five path for a bit then shifted back to the four path, drifted in and bumped a rival midstretch and offered a mild response to round out the superfecta. BARSABAS broke well then dropped back between rivals, raced along the rail then two wide turning for home, drifted out and bumped midstretch and failed to threaten. RASSLER broke out and bumped, sent after and took control early, showed the way from inside around the bend, yielded in upper stretch and weakened. DETAILS MATTER broke a step slow, pursued in range up the backstretch, went two wide into the turn, exited the bend in the four path and faded. GOLDEN RIVER chased from inside out of range, hugged the rail to the stretch and lacked the needed response. REEF CITY trailed on the inside, moved out in upper stretch and was never a factor. BET THE OM got bumped on both sides leaving the gate, chased between then off the pace, rounded the bend two wide, moved inward in the lane and came up empty.
